VOV.VN - A send-off ceremony was held in Ho Chi Minh City on March 24 by the Ministry of National Defence for 33 Vietnamese officers and soldiers who will take on a UN peace keeping mission at the level-2 field hospital No.3 in South Sudan.

The Defence Ministry held a ceremony on March 23 in Ho Chi Minh City to send off the staff of the third Level-2 Field Hospital, who will participate in the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan.

Deputy Minister of Defence, Sen. Lieut. Gen Nguyen Chi Vinh, has expressed a hope that Vietnam will continue to send peacekeeping forces to more areas and plant more Vietnamese flags on the world peacekeeping map.

Vietnam will continue to seek measures to enhance the efficiency of and expand the areas of engagement in UN peacekeeping operations, heard a conference held by the Ministry of National Defence in Hanoi on January 7 to review Vietnam’s involvement in the operations in the 2012-2020 period.
