VOV.VN - The Vietnamese women's futsal team officially secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup 2025 on May 9 after defeating the Philippines 3-0 in their second Group B match.

Vietnam, coached by Nguyen Dinh Hoang, got off to a strong start with a 5-3 win over Hong Kong (China). With three points in hand, they entered the match against the Philippines determined to book an early ticket to the next round, while the Philippines needed a win to keep their hopes of advancing from the group stage alive.
According to head coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang, the first half saw the Vietnamese team employ high pressing tactics to limit the space of the Filipino side and disrupt their build-up play.
In the second half, Hoang noted that the Vietnamese players improved their focus and maintained greater stability.
He also expressed satisfaction with the final score, affirming that the players gave more than 100% of their effort on the court.
In recognition of their outstanding performance, Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), extended his congratulations to the team on behalf of the VFF Standing Committee and awarded them VND 200 million.
Following the 3-0 win, Vietnam temporarily top Group B with six points. They will face Iran at 4:00 p.m. (Vietnam time) on May 11 at the Hohhot Sports Center in China.
