Ngo Thanh Van returns in Hollywood sequel “The Old Guard 2”

VOV.VN - Netflix has officially released the trailer for the action-packed sequel The Old Guard 2, which features Vietnamese actress Ngo Thanh Van, also known as Veronica Ngo, alongside stars Charlize Theron, Kiki Layne, and Uma Thurman.

In this second installment, Ngo reprises her role as Quynh, a powerful immortal who was rescued from centuries of imprisonment at the bottom of the sea and now seeks revenge. Unlike in the first film, where she only appeared in flashbacks, Quynh takes center stage with intense fight scenes against the main protagonists, solidifying her role as the central antagonist.

Ngo’s performance in The Old Guard drew attention for her expressive physical acting and the emotional depth she brought to Quynh’s tragic backstory. Her return in The Old Guard 2 promises a dramatic expansion of the character, adding greater tension and complexity to the storyline.

The Old Guard 2 will premiere on Netflix on July 2.

Born in Tra Vinh province, Ngo Thanh Van moved to Norway as a child before returning to Vietnam in 1999 to begin her entertainment career. In addition to acting, she began producing films in 2015 and has become a major figure in Vietnamese cinema. Under the name Veronica Ngo, she has appeared in several Hollywood productions, including The Creator, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, Bright, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Da 5 Bloods, and The Old Guard.
