Air tickets on many domestic flight routes have nearly been sold out before the Lunar New Year holiday, Tet, with seat occupancy reaching 90-100%, as travel demand picks up, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

Domestic airlines have planned to increase the number of seats to 6.7 million from 5.1 million to meet the travel demand ahead of and during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet), according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

The number of air passengers reached nearly 12 million in July, including over 10.5 million on domestic flights, an increase of 40.3% compared to July 2019 before the COVID-19 outbreak, said the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV).
