VOV.VN - Head coach Okiyama Masahiko and the Vietnam U17 women’s team has expressed pride after officially booking a place at the 2026 AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup finals.
On October 17, Vietnam defeated Hong Kong (China) 1-0 to complete the qualifiers with two wins from two matches. The result sealed their qualification for the finals, scheduled from April 30 to May 17, 2026.
Coach Okiyama said the team had achieved its target with focus and determination, keeping clean sheets in both matches. “I’m very proud of the players’ spirit and effort,” he noted.
Forward Hai Yen, who scored the decisive goal, shared her joy: “We worked hard and stayed united. Even when we had difficulties, we never gave up.” She added that the pre-tournament training camp in Germany helped the squad gain valuable experience and improve their teamwork.
