VOV.VN - The President of Vietnam has decided to send three more officers to peacekeeping operations in South Sudan and Abyei.

VOV.VN - General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense of Vietnam, met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix in New York on September 23 during the Vietnamese delegation’s visit to the United States for the high-Level Week of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

The Engineering Unit Rotation 3 and the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 6 paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Hanoi, and to fallen soldiers at the Heroic Martyrs' Monument in the capital city on September 18 before they head for UN peacekeeping missions.

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations has co-ordinated efforts with other relevant units of the Ministry of National Defence in preparation for the send-off ceremony for Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 6 and Engineering Unit Rotation 3 to UN peacekeeping missions, said Major General Pham Manh Thang, director of the operation, on September 16.

The Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations (VDPO), which serves as the Standing Office of the Ministry of National Defence's Steering Committee on participation in the United Nations peacekeeping operations, held a conference in Hanoi on August 27 to review Vietnam's 10-year training work in UN peacekeeping activities.

The 14th Vietnam-India defence policy dialogue was held in New Delhi on August 1, during which the two sides committed to enhancing cooperation in various areas.

The Ministry of National Defence on July 26 handed over the State President’s decisions to two officers who will join the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA).
