Argentina opens agro-industrial office in Vietnam to boost trade ties
VOV.VN - Argentina inaugurated its Agricultural and Industrial Office in Vietnam on July 1 in an effort to promote trade ties between the two countries.

The inauguration of the facility comes as part of an ongoing working visit to Vietnam by an Argentinean economic-commercial delegation.
In his remarks, Argentine Ambassador to Vietnam Marcos Antonio Bednarski said that this marks the sixth agro-industrial office of Argentina globally, showing the importance of the Vietnamese market for Argentina.
Vietnam is one of the most dynamic economies in the region, holding a strategic position as Argentina’s third largest trading partner in Asia after China and India and its seventh largest globally, stated the Ambassador.
He further noted that Argentina and Vietnam have maintained a Comprehensive Partnership since 2010, with steadily growing trade, especially in the agricultural and industrial sectors. Today, Vietnam ranks among the top five markets for Argentine agricultural exports.
Bednarski highlighted that the complementary nature of the two economies and the availability of high-quality human resources on both sides provides an excellent foundation to elevate bilateral cooperation.
According to Alonso Pablo Ferrando, Attaché of the new Argentine Agricultural and Industrial Office in Vietnam, the office aims to strengthen Argentina’s presence in Vietnam and enhance bilateral economic and trade cooperation amid global uncertainties.
The establishment of this office is a vital step toward expanding collaborative efforts and sustaining growth in trade and investment between the two countries, said Ferrando, adding, the office would soon implement various programmes and activities to realise the shared goals in trade cooperation.
In 2024, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Argentina reached US$4 billion. Statistics from the Department of Vietnam Customs show, from January to April 2025, Argentina’s exports to Vietnam grew by 40.4%, while Vietnamese exports to Argentina surged by 316% compared to the same period in 2024, with their trade turnover marking a 67.1% year-on-year increase.
The Argentinean economic-commercial delegation is paying a working visit to Vietnam from June 30 to July 4. It comprises Argentine companies operating in the food and beverage sector and representatives from organisations, including the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, the Center of Poultry Processing Companies (CEPA), and the Argentine Beef Promotion Institute (IPCVA).
The delegation participated in a number of activities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, accompanied by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), including a workshop focusing on business opportunities in the two countries and B2B meetings.
At the same time, the delegation also held meetings with officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, as well as the Ministry of Industry and Trade, to promote exchanges on various topics in the bilateral agenda.
