Vietnam wishes to strengthen multifaceted cooperation with Egypt
VOV.VN - Vietnam desires to enhance comprehensive cooperation with Egypt across various fields such as economy, trade, investment, culture, defense, and security, in line with the strong political ties between the two countries.

President Luong Cuong was speaking during his reception in Hanoi on July 1 for outgoing Egyptian Ambassador to Vietnam Amal Abdel Kader Elmorsi Salama.
Cuong congratulated Salama on her successful tenure and highly appreciated her active contributions to promoting the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Egypt. He praised her efforts in organising business networking, cultural and artistic exchanges, as well as initiatives to promote the image of Egypt’s land, people, and culture to the Vietnamese public, especially during the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2023.
The President called for stronger exchanges of delegations and more substantive cooperation in key potential areas such as digital transformation, economic reform, and national defence and security. He also stressed the importance of continued coordination and mutual support at regional and international forums, based on international law and shared interests.
On this occasion, the President conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and congratulated Egypt on its achievements under the Vision 2030.
Salama, for her part, expressed her gratitude for the support and hospitality she received from the Vietnamese Party, State, and people during her tenure. She recalled that Egypt was among the first countries in the region to establish diplomatic ties with Vietnam, while noting the deep admiration of the Egyptian people for the late President Ho Chi Minh, who visited Egypt several times.
She praised Vietnam’s impressive development achievements in recent years and expressed confidence that the country’s ongoing efforts in administrative and governance reform would lead to sustained national development. She affirmed that Egypt and Vietnam share common goals in areas such as digital transformation, economic innovation, and defense-security, and there remains significant potential for further cooperation in economics, trade, culture, and science and technology.
President Cuong thanked the Ambassador and the Egyptian people for their affection toward President Ho and Vietnam, and noted while the bilateral relationship has grown over the past six decades, its scope remains modest compared to the two countries’ potential. He expressed hope that the diplomat would continue to support Vietnam in any future capacity and serve as a bridge to foster stronger cooperation and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
