The Supreme People’s Procuracy has issued an indictment prosecuting former transport officials and their accomplices involving in the case of Dinh Ngoc He (alias “Ut troc”), who appropriated over VND725 billion (US$31.3 million) from toll collection on the HCM City-Trung Luong Expressway.
Nguyen Thanh Tai, former Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and four accomplices involved in the case “violating regulations on the management and use of State assets, causing losses and wastefulness” have filed an appeal against the judgments which were announced at the first instance trial.
The People’s Court of HCM City on September 16 opened a first-instance trial against Nguyen Thanh Tai, former Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, and a number of other defendants, on charges of “violating regulations on the management and use of State assets, causing losses and wastefulness”.

The Ministry of Public Security’s Police Investigation Authority completed its investigation relating to the land plot at 2-4-6 Hai Ba Trung Street in HCM City on July 13 and transferred the case to the Supreme People’s Procuracy.
