Developing a sustainable and long-lasting relationship with China by constantly strengthening political trust and deepening substantive cooperation, is a consistent policy, an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, and multilateralisation and diversification of foreign relations, said Politburo member Tran Cam Tu.
Vietnam and China have signed seven important cooperation documents in the railway and road sectors, including two intergovernmental treaties, two official development assistance (ODA) agreements between the two governments, and three ministerial-level accords.
Efforts are being ramped up to fast-track three railway projects linking Vietnam and China, with the aim of making them symbolic project in bilateral cooperation, according to the Ministry of Construction.
