Vietnam ready for border defence friendship exchange with China
VOV.VN - Vietnam has shown its readiness for the ninth border defence friendship exchange with China, following a full rehearsal of the event in Lang Son province on April 15.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defence, and other senior military officers rehearsed key activities and inspected venues that are to host the Ministers of National Defence from both countries. These include the Friendship International Border Gate, Dong Dang Primary School, Friendship Border Guard Station, Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park, and the bilateral meeting room at Muong Thanh Hotel.
At each site, Sen. Lieu. Gen. Chien provided on-site feedback regarding organisation, protocol, decorations, security, and safety. He highly appreciated the proactive and responsible efforts of all agencies and units in preparing for the exchange and urged continued close coordination with local authorities to finalize preparations, ensuring the event is carried out as planned, with success.
Minister of National Defence of Vietnam Phan Van Giang and his Chinese counterpart Dong Jun will co-chair the ninth Vietnam-China Border Defence Friendship Exchange in Lang Son province (Vietnam) and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) on April 16-17.
The exchange is one of the significant events within the framework of defence cooperation between the two countries, aimed at strengthening and developing the friendly, cooperative, and trustful relationship between Vietnam and China, especially in the field of national defence.
The Friendship Exchange programme takes place immediately after the state visit to Vietnam by Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, at the invitation of General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong on April 14–15.
