Hai Phong to hold investment promotion conference at ABAC III
VOV.VN - The northern port city of Hai Phong is set to promote investment opportunities at a conference as part of the upcoming third meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) to be held there in mid July 2025.

The conference will highlight the investment environment of Vietnam and Hai Phong in particular is expected to bring about around 700 delegates, including investors from 21 leading APEC economies and the city’s strategic partners.
According to Le Trung Kien, head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, the conference holds special significance as it presents a key opportunity for the city to introduce its new development space and highlight its advantages and potential, especially in the context of Hai Phong’s recent merger with Hai Duong province.
The event will also serve as a platform to showcase Hai Phong’s investment environment and incentive policies; connect local businesses with global investors; introduce signature products and distinctive economic models; and reposition the city’s development vision toward becoming a strategic industrial–urban–logistics hub in Northern Vietnam.
Kien said, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority is anticipated to present approximately 23 investment projects with a total estimated value of US$15 billion. Many of these are large-scale projects, including over US$1 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI). The lineup also features key driving-force projects, such as deep-sea port developments, industrial zone infrastructure, LNG gas projects, and clean energy production initiatives.
“These projects will open up vast development potential and significantly enhance Hai Phong’s attractiveness to both domestic and international investors,” Kien emphasised.
ABAC III will kick-start a series of important activities of Asia-Pacific businesses this year, gathering around 250 delegates from 21 APEC member economies.
Key discussion topics will include free, fair, and sustainable trade and investment; digital transformation and innovation; capacity building for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs); green finance, inclusive growth, and sustainable development; health security and supply chains amid global uncertainties; and the role of businesses in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Outcomes of ABAC III will shape ABAC’s final policy recommendations to be submitted to the ABAC-APEC leaders’ dialogue, scheduled to take place in the Republic of Korea this November.
Vietnamese President Luong Cuong is scheduled to attend and deliver a speech at the opening ceremony of the meeting.
