The Viet Nam Pangasius Expo, held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia, has offered Australian visitors 100 virtual stalls of Vietnamese processed tra and basa (Pangasius) fish products.
Overseas shipments of tra fish (pangasius) are expected to bring about US$1.54 billion in revenue this year, said Le Hang, deputy head of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP)’s training and promotion centre.

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced the preliminary results of the 17th period of review (POR17) for the period from August 1, 2019 to July 31, 2020, regarding Vietnam’s tra and basa fish (pangasius) exported to the US.
Aquatic exports in the first half of August were strongly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, reaching only US$263.8 million, down 41% compared to the second half of July and 30.1% from the same period in 2020.
Vietnam’s aquatic export is hoped to hit US$9 billion in 2021 thanks to the recovery of consumption in key markets such as the US, the European Union (EU), and other potential markets.
