The Nghe An provincial People’s Committee has approved an international non-refundable aid project to help 900 poor, near-poor and vulnerable households recovering from the severe impacts of Storm No. 3, internationally known as storm Wipha.

The Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRCS) Central Committee on July 24 decided to launch an emergency relief operation to support households affected by flooding following Storm Wipha in the central province of Nghe An.

A tropical depression over the eastern waters of the Philippines has strengthened into Storm Wipha early on July 18, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
