VOV.VN - There remains plenty of room for Vietnamese farm produce exports to Singapore to grow as the island nation is keen on seeking partner countries to co-operate in the production of agricultural products and processed foods, according to industry insiders.

A workshop discussing opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to increase export of agricultural and aquatic products to Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was held on November 2 in Hanoi.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Industry and Trade co-organised a seminar on promoting the export of Vietnamese fruit and vegetables to the European Union (EU) both online and offline.

Representatives of trade promotion agencies and business communities of India and three countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS), namely Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia, gathered at an online India-Mekong trade connection programme on October 11.

Exports of key agricultural products during January - September witnessed a strong surge in revenue.

Vietnam earned US$46.5 million and US$13.2 million from exporting vegetables and fruits, and rice to Australia in the seven months of this year, up over 45% and 37% year-on-year, respectively.

The agriculture sector became the economy's bright spot in the first seven months of this year, posting a trade surplus of US$3.9 billion in the period.

VOV.VN - Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the export value of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products during the opening seven months of the year reached US$28.6 billion, representing an annual rise of 26.7%, according to the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development (MARD).

The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) and the Vietnam Trade Office in Japan will jointly organise an online conference on June 2 to promote connections in a bid to increase the export of Vietnamese farm produce to Japan.
