Vietnam extends anti-dumping duties on Chinese, Indonesian MSG imports

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) of Vietnam has decided to extend the anti-dumping measures on monosodium glutamate (MSG) imports from China and Indonesia for an additional five years, from July 2025 to July 2030.

Under a recently-issued decision, the anti-dumping duties will range from VND 3,396,156 to VND 6,385,289 per tonne.

This extension follows the final review investigation launched in July 2024 and conducted in accordance with Vietnam’s trade remedy laws, relevant regulations, and the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Agreement on Anti-Dumping.

The investigation authority concluded that dumping practices are likely to continue or recur if the current anti-dumping measures are lifted, potentially causing significant harm to Vietnam’s domestic MSG industry.

The MoIT said it would ill coordinate with relevant regulatory agencies to monitor and enforce the decision, ensuring a fair and competitive market environment for domestic producers in line with Vietnamese law.
