Spring Airlines launches direct flights from Shanghai, Ningbo to Hanoi
VOV.VN - Chinese carrier Spring Airlines launched two regular international round-trip routes connecting Shanghai and Ningbo (China) and Hanoi (Vietnam) on July 1-2, marking the airline’s first commercial flights to Vietnam.
Notably, Spring Airlines is the first carrier to operate a direct route between Ningbo Lishe International Airport and Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi. The new route is operated with Airbus A320 aircraft at a frequency of three flights per week. The Ningbo–Hanoi flight runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, while the Hanoi–Ningbo flight operates on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
With a flight time of approximately 3 hours and 25 minutes, this route significantly reduces travel time compared to previous transit options via Shanghai or Guangzhou.
Meanwhile, the Shanghai Pudong–Hanoi route was inaugurated on July 2, with an estimated flight time of nearly four hours. The Shanghai–Hanoi leg operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and the return Hanoi–Shanghai flight runs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, offering travelers a convenient and flexible schedule.
As of early July 2025, Spring Airlines is among six new international carriers that have launched operations at Noi Bai International Airport this year. The other airlines include AirAsia Cambodia, 9 Air, Xiamen Airlines, Lucky Air, and Chengdu Airlines.

Vietnamese, Chinese airlines allowed to operate two flights per week
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has agreed to allow airlines of Vietnam and China to operate two flights per week, instead of only one flight per week as before, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) said on June 16.
