VOV.VN - The Vietnamese aviation market is entering an off-peak season as the number of air passengers recorded a slight decline over two consecutive months.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has registered 248 aircraft under Vietnamese nationality so far this year, up six from the same period last year.
The number of air passengers in September reached 4.2 million, down 14% month-on-month, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
The number of air passengers reached nearly 12 million in July, including over 10.5 million on domestic flights, an increase of 40.3% compared to July 2019 before the COVID-19 outbreak, said the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV).
VOV.VN - The number of foreign travelers travelling through local airports during the first quarter of the year is forecast to grow by 441% against the same period from last year to reach 141,600 passengers, according to statistics released by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
The Ministry of Health (MoH) is proposing that people can enter Vietnam without certificates of COVID-19 vaccination or recovery but need to implement anti-pandemic measures.
VOV.VN - Passengers, including children, wishing to fly on domestic routes are no longer required to undergo a COVID-19 test at the airport even when they have not received a single vaccine dose.
Air passengers from Omicron-hit countries and territories will continue to undergo rapid COVID-19 testing when entering Vietnam, and they will pay the fee via ticket prices or directly to test organisers at international airports.
VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh has requested relevant ministries and agencies to complete laying down consistent, detailed guidelines regarding the reopening of international commercial flights.
Excepting for filling in a paper-based COVID-19 prevention and control commitments, air passengers must meet a number of requirements and abide by pandemic control measures, according to a document that the Ministry of Transport has sent to airlines and relevant agencies.
