Vietnamese side secure FIVB Women’s Volleyball Club Championship berth
VOV.VN - In a sensational performance, Vietnam’s Binh Dien Long An beat China’s Beijing 3-0 in the Philippines on April 26 afternoon, securing a historic place in the final of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Champions League 2025 and also a ticket to the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Club Championship.

In set 1, Binh Dien Long An immediately took control, using their superior fitness to dominate the game. Outstanding performances from Vi Thi Nhu Quynh and Lu Thi Phuong led to relentless attacks and highly effective serves. Coach Thai Quang Lai’s players widened the gap throughout the set, eventually sealing a remarkable 10-point victory.
Beijing showed strong resistance early in the second set, quickly building a 2-point lead and maintaining it until midway. However, Binh Dien Long An staged a stunning comeback, fueled by powerful serving from Thanh Thuy, Nhu Quynh, and Lijewska. Their relentless momentum turned the tide, allowing their team to snatch the set and take a 2-0 lead.
Unlike the second set, Binh Dien Long An came out firing in the third. It was duo Thanh Thuy and Nhu Quynh again who performed well, helping their team maintain a consistent 3-5 point advantage throughout. With unwavering focus, they closed out the match and avenged their earlier loss to Beijing.
As a result, Binh Dien Long An defeated Beijing 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-21) to reach the final of the AVC Champions League for the first time ever, and more importantly to qualify for the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Club Championship for the first time in their history.
For the third consecutive year, Vietnam will have a representative in the final of the Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship. They have maintained their impressive streak after reaching the finals in both 2023 and 2024.
The 2025 AVC Champions League final will see Binh Dien Long An face off against Zhetysu from Kazakhstan on April 27 (local time).
