Iconic war films in Vietnam to be screened for free at DANAFF III
VOV.VN - A total of 22 classic films featuring wars in Vietnam will be screened for free in the curated programme “Half A Century of Vietnamese War Cinema” at the third Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF III) from June 29 to July 5.

For the first time, audiences will have the unique opportunity to watch Vietnam’s most iconic war films produced after 1975 on the big screen, offering deep reflections on the harsh realities of war and post-war contemplation.
“Mối tình đầu” (First Love, 1980), “Huyền thoại về người mẹ” (Legend of a Mother, 1987), “Lưỡi Dao” (The Blade, 1995), and “Truyền thuyết về Quán Tiên” (The Legend of Quan Tien, 2019) are among the 22 cinematic works to be introduced to the public.
The programme will also include exchanges among actors, actresses, directors, and audiences, allowing them to share memories of war and messages of peace.
A workshop on Vietnamese war films since the country's reunification day will be organised, highlighting these cinematic works’ contributions to building cultural identity, and promoting the image of Vietnamese landscapes and people to the world.
The screening is part of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025).
