The "online grocery shopping" market has emerged as one of the hottest growth sectors in Vietnam's e-commerce landscape. Platforms including Shopee, Grab, TikTok, and Be Group are racing to capture consumer shopping baskets and reshape digital spending habits across the nation.
Vietnamese consumers spend over VND1.233 trillion (US$48 million) on online shopping each day on average, highlighting the strong purchasing power of online channels amid the ongoing shift toward digital consumption, according to the latest report by e-commerce growth consultancy YouNet ECI.
Large retail firms are to gain even more market share this year as smaller competitors have been forced to exit the game after prolonged lockdowns and mobility restrictions during recent years, said industry experts.
