Malaysian expert impressed by Vietnam’s reforms

VOV.VN - Enzo Sim Hong Jun, a specialist from Malaysia’s Penang Institute, has praised the reforms and policies Vietnam has implemented over the past year while responding recently to the media in Kuala Lumpur.

According to Enzo, Vietnam has maintained and expanded its anti-corruption campaign, promoted multilateral diplomacy, signed major trade agreements such as the US tariff reduction deal, and bolstered cooperation with regional partners to attract investment and reduce economic dependence. The “Innovation 2.0” policy has focused on institutional reforms to create a favorable environment for foreign investment.

Additionally, several laws have been amended, including the Nationality Law, which makes it easier for spouses of Vietnamese citizens to obtain citizenship, and the five-year visa exemption for international talents, artists, and athletes. The National Assembly has also approved measures to streamline the administrative apparatus, reorganize territorial boundaries, and enhance efficiency and transparency, he added

Enzo noted that these steps help Vietnam consolidate its international standing, attract high-quality resources, and move closer to becoming a regional high-tech manufacturing hub.
