VOV.VN - Vietnam’s rice export prices have shown signs of recovery following a prolonged decline, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA).

Vietnam's agro-forestry-aquatic product exports reached US$6.14 billion in March, bringing the total export value in the first quarter of this year to US$15.72 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.1%.

VOV.VN - After remaining high for an extended period, Vietnam's 5% broken rice export price dropped to US$399 per tonne in early 2025, falling below that of regional competitors such as Thailand, India, and Pakistan, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA).

VOV.VN - Vietnam exported nearly 8.5 million tonnes of rice worth US$5.31 billion over the past 11 months, up 10.6% in volume and 22.4% in value compared to the same period from last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has reported.

VOV.VN - In 2024, Vietnam is expected to set a new record for rice exports, with forecasts indicating over 8 million tonnes would be exported and total export revenue would potentially surpass US$5 billion.

VOV.VN - As many as 163 Vietnamese businesses have been certified to meet the conditions for rice export, according to an update from the Import-Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The reduction of the rice import tax by the Philippines will create more advantages and increase opportunities for Vietnamese rice to enter the market later this year, insiders said.

VOV.VN - Vietnam exported nearly 46,000 tonnes of rice to the EU market worth US$41.4 million during the first quarter of the year, representing an increase of nearly 118% against the same period from last year, according to statistics released by the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

In line with the 2024 plan, Indonesia was reportedly set to import approximately three million tonnes of rice, nearly matching the Philippines' planned import of Vietnamese rice, which will make Indonesia one of the world's largest rice importers and a key customer for the Vietnamese rice industry.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Department of Export and Import recently announced a list of 170 eligible rice exporters as of October 18.
