Party General Secretary To Lam arrives in Minsk for state visit to Belarus

VOV.VN - Party General Secretary To Lam, accompanied by his spouse and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, arrived in Minsk on the afternoon of May 11 (local time), beginning a state visit to the Republic of Belarus from May 11 to 12 at the invitation of President Aleksandr Lukashenko.

Upon arrival at the airport, the Party Chief and his delegation, were greeted by Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov, the Belarussian Ambassador to Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Belarus Nguyen Van Ngu, as well as staff from the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese community representatives in Belarus.

Immediately after arriving, they laid flowers at the Victory Monument and visited veterans and experts who had made significant contributions to Vietnam, presenting them with gifts.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, Vietnam and Belarus have enjoyed a strong traditional friendship and developed all-around cooperation, with growing political trust. The two countries have consistently exchanged delegations, particularly at the highest levels, laying a solid foundation for a close and enduring relationship.

According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Belarus Nguyen Van Ngu, the Vietnamese Party chief’s state visit will create new momentum for strengthening and expanding Vietnam-Belarus relations, and outline orientations to further deepen the bilateral relationship.

It is also expected to open up plenty of opportunities for businesses of the two countries in trade and investment cooperation.
