Russian Pacific Fleet ships pay courtesy visit to Da Nang

VOV.VN - On May 10, a Russian Pacific Fleet delegation comprising the corvettes Rezkii and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov, along with the medium-sized oil tanker Pechenga, arrived at Tien Sa Port for a five-day courtesy visit to the central city of Da Nang from May 10 to 14.

The delegation consists of 262 officers, sailors, and personnel, led by Colonel Anciferov Alexey Vitalievich.

An official welcome ceremony was attended by representatives from the Command of Coast Guard Region 2, the Da Nang People’s Committee, Military Region 5 Command, the city’s Military Command, the Border Guard Command, Naval Region 3 Command, and other relevant agencies.

During their stay, Russian naval officers and sailors will participate in various activities, including laying a wreath at the Da Nang Martyrs’ Memorial, paying courtesy calls to the city’s People’s Committee, Naval Region 3 Command, and Military Region 5 Command, engaging in exchanges with officers and soldiers of Naval Region 3, visiting cultural and historical landmarks in the city, and conducting joint training exercises.

The year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Russia (January 30, 1950). The traditional friendship between the two nations has been steadily elevated to a Strategic Partnership in 2001 and a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2012.

In the time ahead, with support from the Russian Consulate General in Da Nang, cooperation between the city and Russian localities is expected to strengthen further, creating new opportunities for economic, cultural, and educational exchanges and people-to-people exchange.

This visit by ships of the Russian Pacific Fleet contributes to enhancing the traditional friendship, mutual trust, and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations. It also underscores Da Nang’s growing diplomatic role and helps promote the city’s image as a vibrant destination to international friends.
