Within the State apparatus of Vietnam, the National Assembly (NA) is the highest representative body of the people and the highest organ of State power of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The 14th National Assembly listened to working reports of the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuracy for the 2016-2021 tenure and a report examining them during a plenary session in Hanoi on March 25, as part of its ongoing 11th session.

Leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defence, and the Supreme People’s Court on January 27 stressed the importance of comprehensive reform and the building of a clean and strong public security force, a modern army, and a civilised and modern judicial sector.

The National Assembly passed the appointment of several new ministers and senior government officials, and approved the Resolution on State budget estimate for 2021 on November 12, the eighth working day of the second phase of its 10th session.
