VOV Online, Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam sign MoU on cooperation
VOV.VN - The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and VOV Online Newspaper (Voice of Vietnam) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on November 4 in Hanoi.
This event marks the start of a strong, effective, and mutually beneficial cooperation between the state management agency in trade remedies and the press, while enhancing the pivotal role of communication in disseminating policy-related information and raising awareness among enterprises and the public about trade remedy measures.
As Vietnam’s international economic integration deepens, trade remedies have become increasingly important in protecting domestic enterprises against unfair competition and maintaining stable production.
TRAV Director Luong Hoang Thai said each country has its own trade defence mechanisms. “Vietnam is among the nations most subject to trade remedy measures. If our exporters understand and can navigate these barriers, they will also find new opportunities for growth,” he said.
He added that domestic producers also face fierce competition from imports, and thus need trade remedy tools to safeguard their legitimate interests. “Enterprises should proactively raise proposals and recommendations, while the government will act as an arbitrator to ensure a fair and healthy competitive environment for business and production,” Thai emphasized.
The media, particularly VOV Online- a key press agency- plays an important role in delivering accurate information, and raising awareness among enterprises and the public about economic issues, including trade remedies, which are crucial to Vietnam’s sustainable economic development.
Editor-in-Chief of VOV Online Ngo Thieu Phong said, “As a major media outlet under the Government, VOV Online has cooperated with many state management agencies in covering policy-related issues. We look forward to close cooperation with the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam to provide knowledge that helps citizens and enterprises protect domestic production, exporters, and the nation’s legitimate trade interests.”
The MoU signing aims to establish comprehensive coordination between the two agencies with a view to stepping up communication, share information, and support Vietnamese businesses in the process of international economic integration.
