New double-decker bus route highlights Saigon’s cultural heritage
            VOV.VN - The Viet Bigbus Tourism Transport and Communication Joint Stock Company in Ho Chi Minh City on November 4 launched the open-top double-decker bus route Saigon-Tan Dinh, inspired by the popular hop-on hop-off model around the world.
      
    
  The route “Saigon’s Cultural Heritage, offers residents and visitors a new perspective of the city, where modern urban life blends with the heritage of a 300-year-old metropolis.
The journey features 14 stops connecting many of Ho Chi Minh City’s iconic landmarks, including Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, the Municipal Theatre, Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, Tan Dinh Market, Bach Dang Wharf, Ba Son Bridge, the Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and Lang Ong Ba Chieu Temple.
Each bus is equipped with multilingual audio guides, digital screens, free Wi-Fi, bottled water, and complimentary sweets throughout the trip.
Viet Bigbus Director Nguyen Thu Hoa said the company aims to support Ho Chi Minh City’s efforts to build a smart tourism city for the 2026-2030 period, promoting local pride and honoring Vietnam’s cultural heritage.
According to Nguyen Quoc Vinh, Deputy Head of the Transport Management Division under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, this is the fifth open-top double-decker bus route in the city. He expressed hope that the Saigon-Tan Dinh route will become an attractive new tourism product and encouraged the company to expand to nearby localities such as Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
To mark the opening and celebrate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20), Viet Bigbus is offering free rides from November 11 to 13 under the “Zero Fare- Free Experience” program.
The route departs from 133 Nguyen Hue Street and operates daily from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. After the promotion, ticket prices start at VND 145,000 per trip.
