Exhibition “Time and the Cities” connects Vietnamese, Swiss photographers
VOV.VN - Six Vietnamese and Swiss photographers are showcasing their works at an exhibition titled “Time and the Cities,” which opened at the Long Bien Art Fair in Hanoi on November 3.

Through the works of six photographers from different generations and artistic techniques, the exhibition invites audiences to reflect on the connections between time, space, and the self.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Switzerland’s Deputy Ambassador Aldo de Luca emphasized that through this exhibition, the Swiss Embassy aims to foster dialogue between Vietnamese and Swiss artists, introduce new perspectives on urban life and humanity to Vietnamese audiences, and create a meaningful platform for both local and international artists.
The exhibition is part of the Photo Hanoi ’25 International Photography Biennale jointly organized by Hanoi’s Department of Culture and Sports and the French Institute in Vietnam.
Participating artists include Beat Streuli, Alfio Tommasini, and Matthieu Gafsou from Switzerland, along with Le Nguyen Duy Phuong, Tran Vinh Dat, and Bach Nam Hai from Vietnam.
The exhibition presents a broad spectrum of temporal experiences and the relentless rhythm of urban life. By combining photography with video, stillness with motion, “Time and the Cities” explores the relationship between space and time from multiple angles. When juxtaposed, these contrasting elements reveal a universal rhythm of life-birth, growth, work, and passing-that transcends geographical boundaries. In this visual narrative, time finds its reference point in humanity, defined by the temporality of life, according to the organizers.
The exhibition runs until November 22.
