VOV.VN - Vietnam is already in a good position concerning making a sustainable offshore wind supply chain given existing industries and businesses with oil, and shipyards construction, while transformation into renewable energy or offshore wind is realistic and within reach.

The Vietnam – Russia joint-venture Vietsovpetro and the La Gan wind power project development JSC signed a contract on July 15 to conduct a geographical survey for the La Gan offshore wind power project off the coast of the south central province of Binh Thuan.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) needs to study and direct Vietnam Electricity (EVN) to issue regulations on the transmission and distribution system to ensure the stable operation of the power system amid abundant wind and solar power sources.

Vietnam needs to increase the proportion of wind power, especially offshore wind power, in the total power capacity targeted in the National Power Development Plan for 2021-2030 with a vision to 2045 (Power Development Plan VIII), so as to attract more foreign investors in the field, according to businesses and experts.

VOV.VN - Representatives from PNE, a multinational corporation based in Germany, have taken part in a working session alongside leaders of the Binh Dinh province People's Committee to develop a US$1.5 billion wind power project in the locality.
