Vietnam squad announced for November FIFA Days with Xuan Son’s return
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s national team for the November 2025 FIFA Days features the return of naturalized player Nguyen Xuan Son, who has been absent for nearly a year due to injury.
Fully recovered, Xuan Son is eager to make his comeback in the national colors.
Striker Xuan Son has not played for Nam Dinh FC during the first half of the 2025/2026 V-League season, and while he is included in the squad, head coach Kim Sang Sik may not field him in the upcoming match.
Coach Kim also added two newcomers -central defender Khong Minh Gia Bao and forward Nguyen Tran Viet Cuong, both from Ho Chi Minh City FC. Viet Cuong has shown strong form for his club and is considered one of the domestic forwards capable of challenging Tien Linh for a spot on the national team’s frontline.
Several young players are unavailable as the U23 squad is in intensive preparation for SEA Games 33. Nevertheless, the coach has balanced the squad with experienced internationals and fresh call-ups.
Vietnam will face Laos in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers in an away match on November 18.
