Member of the Central Military Commission and Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lieut. Gen Hoang Xuan Chien and UK Minister of State for Defence Vernon Coaker co-chaired the fifth Vietnam-UK defence policy dialogue in Hanoi on September 13.

Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lieut. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien and Singaporean Permanent Secretary of Defence Chan Heng Kee co-chaired the 15th Singapore-Vietnam Defence Policy Dialogue in Singapore on August 22.

The 14th Vietnam-India defence policy dialogue was held in New Delhi on August 1, during which the two sides committed to enhancing cooperation in various areas.

The second defence policy dialogue between Vietnam and Canada took place in Ottawa on September 21 under the chair of Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien and his Canadian counterpart Bill Matthews.
