VOV.VN - Vietnamese coal exports hit a record high in August with 90,060 tonnes shipped abroad for US$18.98 million, up 65.4% in volume and 6.3% in value compared to the same month last year, the General Department of Vietnam Customs reported.
Japan continued to be the largest export market of Vietnamese coal in the first six months of this year, with a volume of 56,093 tonnes valued at US$15.7 million.
The Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) on May 7 delivered 23,000 tonnes of coal to South Africa.
Vietnam hopes to establish long-term stable trade and investment ties with Australia and receive technology in sustainable coal mining and processing from Australia, said Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien.
VOV.VN-The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has licensed the Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Holding Corp., Ltd. (Vinacomin) and Dong Bac Corporation to ship abroad more than two million tonnes of coal this year.
The Trade Office of Vietnam in Indonesia has advised Vietnamese importers to not trade with 34 Indonesian mining companies whose coal exports have been suspended by the local government for failing to meet domestic market obligations.
