The Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), the Ministry of Public Security, and Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee on July 28 held a ceremony to launch a campaign observing Vietnam's Day Against Human Trafficking and World Day Against Trafficking in Person on July 30 with the theme “Reach every victim of trafficking, leave no one behind".
Vietnam recognises the more positive assessment made in the 2023 Trafficking in Persons Report by the US Department of State, Spokeswoman of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang told a regular press briefing on June 22.
A workshop to launch the “Training Curriculum on Counter-Trafficking and Victim Protection” and to wrap up the project “Frontline training for Border Guards in Border Areas of Vietnam”, funded by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the US Department of State was held in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on May 30.
Vietnam has been intensifying efforts to bring a stop to human trafficking in recent years, according to Deputy Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has given the green light to a plan on the implementation of the ASEAN Convention Against Trafficking in Persons (ACTIP), especially women and children.
