Vietnam’s transition to a sustainable economy is not only an urgent task but also a strategic opportunity to enhance competitiveness, improve quality of life and protect the environment, said policymakers at the recent 2024 Workers’ Forum for the Environment in Hanoi.

The European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) and its member businesses are ready to help the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) build policies and mechanisms to build a green and sustainable economy, EuroCham Chairman Alain Cany has said.

Vietnam called for a comprehensive approach in addressing challenges relating to climate change, environment and bio-diversity, at a meeting of the Economic and Financial Committee of the United Nations General Assembly’s 77th session on October 10.

To develop a green and sustainable economy and adapt to climate change, Vietnam has been stepping up energy transition by capitalising on internal strength and enhancing cooperation with development partners.
