The UK's University of Stirling has announced a GBP3.5 million (US$4.55 million) initiative named AquaSoS to develop digital tools to support sustainable aquaculture in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam, according to the British Embassy in Vietnam.

A business forum was held by the Dutch Embassy in Vietnam in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on November 27, seeking ways for sustainable aquaculture in the region.

Cargill Inn and Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), a foreign non-governmental organisation, on May 8 announced their partnership and the launch of Green Aqua project which aims to reduce water pollution through promoting the application of sustainable aquaculture practices in the Mekong Delta region.

The Vietnam-Netherlands Sustainable Aquaculture Business Forum 2022 took place in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on September 7.
