Fishing boat sinks off Quang Nam coast, leaving 5 dead or missing
VOV.VN -A local fishing boat carrying 15 crew members has sunk at sea, resulting in five people dead or missing, confirmed authorities from Nui Thanh district of central Quang Nam province, on March 21.
According to initial reports, An Hoa Border Control Station received an SOS call from a local resident at 11 a.m. informing that the fishing boat, QNa-91679, captained by Phan Van Thanh, sank at the coordinates of 13°50'N - 110°09'E.
Upon hearing of the incident, three nearby fishing boats and rescue teams from local authorities joined in the search for the distressed fishermen.
So far, a total of 11 fishermen have been found, including one who was confirmed dead. 10 other fishermen were reported to be in stable condition.
The rescue team are continuing to search for the four missing fishermen.
