Sixty-three years have passed since the establishment of Vietnam – Laos diplomatic ties (September 5, 1962), the Laos – Vietnam Combatant Alliance Museum in Dong village, Sepon district, the Lao province of Savannakhet, stands as a powerful reminder of the two nations’ enduring solidarity.
With the spirit of proletarian internationalism and following President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching that “helping the friend means helping ourselves”, volunteer soldiers and experts of Vietnam in Laos made substantial contributions to excellently fulfill the duty of joining hands with the Lao army and people to secure complete victory in the resistance wars against the French and US invaders.
The Lao Ministry of National Defence recently held a dialogue on the Dien Bien Phu Victory on the occasion of its 70th anniversary, providing the Lao officials and soldiers with an insight into the solidarity of the Vietnam-Laos special combatant alliance.
Incense offering ceremonies in tribute to Vietnamese and Lao martyrs were organised at the Laos-Vietnam Combat Alliance Monument in Thoulakhom district, and the monument dedicated to Vietnamese martyrs in Kasy district of Vientiane province on July 26.
The Party Organisation and authorities in the central Lao province of Vientiane on December 28 hosted a ceremony in Thoulakhom district to commemorate heroes and martyrs of the Laos-Vietnam combat alliance who laid down their lives on the Keun battlefield in 1946.
