VOV.VN - The first North-South train restarted operations on the afternoon of October 13 following a three-month temporary suspension aimed at curbing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, with many passengers unable to hide their joy at returning to their various hometowns.

VOV.VN - National train operator Vietnam Railways (VNR) resumed selling tickets on October 12 for both the North-South route and the Hanoi-Hai Phong route following several months of suspending its operation.

Vietnam will add 18 new routes, 1,528km in total length, to its national railway network by 2050, according to a draft planning for the 2021 – 2030 period, with a vision towards 2050.
