Vietnam’s leading ICT company FPT Software has launched a new subsidiary, FPT Semiconductor, marking a key milestone for the company as it enters the booming semiconductor industry.

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Information and Communications launched the ‘Make in Vietnam’ Digital Technology Product Awards 2022 in Hanoi on June 22.

About 5,600 digital technology firms were established in 2021, raising the total number of such firms in Vietnam to around 64,000, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Four products received the gold prizes of Make in Vietnam Digital Product Awards 2021 at a ceremony held on December 11.

In 2021, Vietnam recorded 5,600 newly-established digital technology businesses, stemming from the need to work, sell and communicate online in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A forum on Vietnam’s digital challenges took place on April 9, a follow-up of a chain of technological events initiated by the Ministry of Information and Communications in 2020.

Vietnam had the highest rate of new digital service consumers in the Southeast Asia region last year, it was reported at the recent World Mobile Broadband & ICT 2021 conference in Hanoi.

Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat and Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, both of them members of the Party Central Committee, on January 28 called for greater investment in science-technology to push national digital transformation, e-Government, and the digital economy forward.

The technology business community must take the lead in development research and innovation to contribute more to national digital transformation to achieve an aspiration for a strong and prosperous Vietnam, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said.
