VOV.VN - The National Sailing and Stand-up Paddleboard (SUP) Racing 2025 opened in Da Nang on September 6, bringing together more than 70 professional athletes nationwide, and will run until September 7.

The event was co-organized by the Vietnam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation and the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Sailing athletes are competing in Optimist, Laser, and 470 boat classes, while SUP paddlers are racing in men’s and women’s events over distances ranging from 200m to 3,000m across various age groups.
The tournament serves as a key platform for developing new talent for the national team in preparation for international competitions in 2025 and beyond. It also contributes to the expansion of sailing and SUP training programs throughout the country.
Tran Cong Tu, director of the Da Nang Sports Centre, said the sports have attracted growing interest among local residents and tourists. He expressed his hope that the competition will help promote water sports to the wider public and position Da Nang as a reputable hub for organizing and training in marine sports.
