The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) has issued a warning about a large-scale global cyberattack campaign known as ClickFix, which is rapidly spreading and targeting accommodation facilities across the country, including hotels, homestays and resorts.

Up to 46.15% of organisations and businesses have been targeted by cyberattacks so far this year, with the total number of incidents estimated to exceed 659,000, according to statistics from the National Cybersecurity Association (NCA).

VOV.VN - According to recent statistics from the Authority of Information Security under the Ministry of Information and Communications, there were 204 cyberattacks on information systems in Vietnam in October, a decrease of 18.4% from the previous month and a drop of 79.8% compared to the same period in 2023.

Financial frauds and cyberattacks on the Vietnamese financial information systems are on the rise, but many domestic financial agencies still do not pay due attention to the issue, officials said.

A 75.1% drop was seen in the number of detected and handled cyberattacks targeting information systems in Vietnam to 349 cases in August, according to the Authority of Information Security under the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC).

VOV.VN - The first half of the year witnessed the number of stolen personal information records soar by 50% compared to the same period from last year.

Individuals and organisations in Vietnam should proactively strengthen their defence capabilities against increasingly diverse and complex cyberattacks, which involve various methods and advanced technology, insiders have said.

The Conference and Exhibition on Information Security in the South 2024 will be held in HCM City on August 23.

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed an official dispatch requesting ministries, sectors, and localities exert efforts to ensure information security, given recent increases in cyberattacks, especially the presence of ransomware.
