The title of Academician was conferred on Professor Chau Van Minh, President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) at a ceremony held by the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) on November 25.

Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh applauded the cooperation between the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and ministries of Laos while receiving a VAST delegation in Vientiane on July 27.

Ambassador of Belarus to Vietnam Vladimir Goshin on October 15 presented the Silver Medal of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) to Professor Chau Van Minh, President of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), in recognition of his outstanding achievements in science.

Professor Chau Van Minh, the first Vietnamese working in natural sciences and technology, has been awarded the highest French order of merit, the Legion of Honor.
