U22 Vietnam group-stage venue at SEA Games 33 may be moved amid severe flooding

VOV.VN - U22 Vietnam may play their men’s football group-stage fixtures in Bangkok instead of Songkhla, Thai media reported, as historic flooding has left the southern province unfit to host and raised concerns over potential disease risks.

According to the reports, Chalitrat Chantarubeksa, deputy secretary-general of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand (NOCT), has confirmed the planned venue change.

All 10 affected sports, including men’s football, boxing and pencak silat, will be moved to new locations in Bangkok. Group B of the men’s football competition is expected to take place at Thammasat Stadium.

Thailand will submit the proposed adjustments to the SEA Games Council on November 27 and report them to the National Olympic Committee of Thailand the following day.

As the host nation, Thailand will support participating teams with logistics relating to the venue change, including flight arrangements and accommodation.
