Vietnam maintain winning streak at AFC U17 Asian Cup qualifiers
VOV.VN - Vietnam on November 26 secured a comfortable 2–0 win over Hong Kong (China), maintaining their winning streak and firmly holding the top spot in Group C of the 2026 U17 Asian Cup qualifiers.
Vietnam dominated from the opening whistle. Just ten minutes in, Minh Thuy broke the deadlock with a stunning left-footed strike from distance, giving the hosts an early boost in confidence. Despite their dominance, Vietnam found it difficult to break through Hong Kong’s deep defensive block for the remainder of the first half.
After the break, Vietnam continued to apply the pressing tactic. In the 70th minute, Manh Quan doubled the lead with a close-range finish after a precise low cross from the right, effectively sealing the 2–0 victory. Hong Kong struggled throughout the match, creating only a handful of threatening opportunities.
In the other match of the group, Malaysia cruised to a 5–0 rout over Macao (China), keeping pressure on Vietnam at the top.
After three games, Vietnam lead the group with an impressive 22 goals scored and none conceded, while Malaysia follow with a +19 goal difference.
The next fixtures will take place on November 28, with Vietnam facing Macao, Malaysia meeting Singapore, and Hong Kong taking on the Northern Mariana Islands.
