Australian people will have a chance to taste Vietnamese cashew nuts in a programme to be held by the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia from September 25 – October 2.
The agricultural sector needs to focus on developing raw materials to reduce the dependence on imports as well as improve processing capacity, experts said.
VOV.VN - Vietnam exported 75,000 tonnes of cashew nuts worth US$442 million during the opening two months of the year, representing an increase of 46.1% in volume and 21.5% in value compared to the same period from last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
In the past 30 years since the establishment of the Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas), cashew exports have reached more than US$31 billion, according to insiders.
VOV.VN - Vietnam raked in US$2.3 billion from exporting 363,00 tonnes of cashew nuts during the opening nine months of the year, representing a year-on-year rise of 10.6% in volume and a decline of 4% in value, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).
VOV.VN - Vietnam exported 184,000 tonnes of cashew nuts valued at US$1.24 billion during the opening five months of the year, representing a year-on-year increase of 17.8% in volume and 2.2% rise in value, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
