VOV.VN - Customs officers at Moc Bai International Border Gate in Vietnam’s southern Tay Ninh province have intercepted nearly two kilograms of illicit drugs hidden inside a backpack, according to the Department of Customs under the Ministry of Finance.

With key agricultural products such as lychee, durian, mango, longan and dragon fruit entering the peak harvest season, Vietnamese authorities are stepping up efforts to streamline customs clearance at border gates to prevent congestion and market oversupply.

The Department of Customs reported that state budget revenues from import-export activities in the first five months of 2025 reached VND182.51 trillion (US$6.99 billion), equivalent to 44.4% of the assigned estimate and increasing 9.2% year-on-year.

The number of trucks arriving at border gate areas across the northern province of Lang Son has surged in recent days, according to the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Management Board.
