Eight arrested in cross-border human trafficking case in Northern Vietnam

VOV.VN - Border guards of northern mountainous Cao Bang province have launched criminal proceedings against eight Vietnamese individuals for organising the illegal exit of Chinese nationals.

Among the group, three individuals were apprehended by the border guards, while five others opted to surrender themselves to the authorities.

All eight are residents of Cao Bang province.

They admitted to working with unknown Chinese individuals in an attempt to facilitate the illegal entry of four Chinese nationals into Vietnam via Landmark 820 in Lung Phiac hamlet of Dam Thuy commune in exchange for financial gain.

The case is now under further investigation.
