VOV.VN - A Vietnamese delegation is set to attend more than 20 meetings during the upcoming 56th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM-56) as a means of contributing to strengthening solidarity and consensus within the regional bloc.

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son’s attendance at the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting Retreat (AMM Retreat) in Jakarta on February 3-4 will contribute to enhancing solidarity and consensus in the ten-member grouping, thus elevating Vietnam’s role and position in ASEAN and international forums, a Vietnamese diplomat has said.

Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son on November 17 stressed the need to enhance cooperation among member economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), especially in the context of the global economy facing various risks and challenges.

Vietnam's initiatives at the 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM-55) and related meetings, which took place in Cambodia from August 2-5, received support from other participating countries and were included in documents of the meetings, said Ambassador Vu Ho, acting head of ASEAN SOM Vietnam.
