Vietnam U18 team ready for intense games at Seoul Eou Cup 2025
VOV.VN - The Vietnam U18 national team arrived in Seoul, the Republic of Korea (Rok), on September 18 for intense matches against Asia’s top youth football teams at the Seoul Eou Cup 2025, slated for September 21 - 28.

Head coach Yutaka Ikeuchi and his players are set to hold their first training session on September 19 ahead of the tournament.
In the lead-up to the competition, the Vietnam U18 underwent over three weeks of intensive training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre, starting August 25. Coach Ikeuchi and his staff initially called up 32 players, many of whom gained valuable experience at the 2025 AFC U17 Championship.
To evaluate player performance and finalise the squad, the team engaged in a series of friendly matches against strong opponents including U21 Hanoi, U21 CAHN, and U21 PVF-CAND. These matches allowed the coaching staff to refine the roster, ultimately selecting 23 players for the Seoul Eou Cup.
The tournament features eight high-caliber youth teams from across Asia, divided into two groups.
Vietnam will compete in Group A alongside the K League U18 All Star team, U18 Zhejiang (China), and Kanto University (Japan).
Meanwhile, Group B includes Seoul FA, Gangneung Jungang High School (defending Korean High School Champions), U18 Johor Darul Ta’zim (Malaysia), and U18 Buriram United (Thailand).
The format advances the two group winners to the final, while the second-placed teams face off for a third place.
